Depressurize the filter by turning on the water faucet after the system until water stops.
Fix dripping water filter faucet.
Use adjustable pliers to remove the cap and collar.
Step 1 turn off the water to your faucet.
Turn on the faucet and leave open allowing the remaining water in the line to empty into the sink.
A compression faucet has two screw handles one for hot.
Be careful not to break or damage either piece.
Shut off the water after filter if possible.
Determine which side of your faucet is leaking by shutting off the water supply valves one at a time.
Loosen the screw with a hex key wrench and pull off the faucet handle.
Look underneath your sink for the pipes that run up.

Twist the valve under your sink to turn off the water supply valve or valves.
Clean the faucet and the faucet body to remove debris.
Use groove joint pliers to grip the old cartridge and pull it straight up.
Along those pipes somewhere will be handles that you can turn to shut off the water to your sink 1 x research source twist clockwise to shut off step 2 plug the drain.
If the pliers won t work buy a tool called a stem puller that was made for your brand of faucet.
If your valves are stuck shut off the water main.
Use a sink plug if you have one or a rag.
