This is a quick way to fix it.
Floor fix rift.
The only down side is.
After taking multiple measurements of the floor height in different places.
But its quite minor for me luckily.
Some rift s users have come across a problem where touch controllers lose the ability to move in space instead only rotating on the spot where tracking was lost.
When switching between alvr and vrdesktop the floor height gets messed up.
Fix for oculus rift view being on the floor go into your steam folder find portal stories vr open it right click on lift exe click properties then compatibility then check the box that says ruin this program in compatibility mode for and select windows 7.
For me this means putting the center of the play area unnecessarily far back since the rift sensors are on my desk.
Adding fix for tilted floor may be possible as well ie.
I did notice my floor is slightly tilted too as when i do the floorfix from different corners of the chaperone space i get consistently different results.
While there s no definitive fix.
Now the next time you open the game you will no longer be stuck in the floor.
Re calibrating the whole room is a pita as my monitor faces away from my play area so i always need a second person to complete the setup.
I d be happy to help you test debug a fix to this if you don t have rift to do so yourself.
Not sure if this is something that crept in with the 1 11 update but oculus thinks i m hovering above the floor a good foot or so right now.
Thanks for this but the behavior isn t compatible with openvr i m trying to fix floor while using rift cv1 because no matter what i try it says controller tilted.
You need a play area where your sensors can see the floor.
